Volunteer

We welcome your help and participation with some Folk Music Society of Midland business matters. Although there are many volunteer opportunities available, any amount of service would ease the load of the current board members and other frequent volunteers.

Folk Music Sundays Host/Hostess

Enjoy live, local folk music? Enjoy the outdoors and beautiful gardens? If you answered yes to one or both questions, then you might also enjoy being a host or hostess of a Folk Music Sunday this spring/summer! Get into the gardens at no charge in exchange for your time and light duties.

Duties include:
  • Setting up coordinator-provided literature, signs, and water for the musicians/dancers at the 4 sites where our musicians will play before 2:45 p.m. as well as collecting these items at 6:00 p.m.
  • Returning all items to the coordinator (unless you would like to volunteer to host every month – then you could hold on to items until the season is over)
  • Visit each site to make sure all is running smoothly and take a count of audience members.
Time commitment: About 3.5 hours per Sunday (once/month) or 10.5 hours for the entire season.

The coordinator (yours truly) will let you know if the event is canceled due to unfavorable conditions.

Let me know if you would be interested in this opportunity to help out while enjoying the outdoors and great music! ~ Kris Goodwin communityfmsm@gmail.com or 989-513-3246.
